MoboReels Price: Weekly VIP $29.99, Monthly VIP $49.99

Bar chart of MoboReels' ten US App Store price rows on Nov 4: Weekly VIP $29.99, Monthly VIP $49.99

The MoboReels price list on the US App Store has one weekly plan, Weekly VIP at $29.99, and what that price buys is the part to check before paying. In the 500 most recent US reviews of the app, 32 say a paid VIP plan stopped them before the last episodes of a drama, and 15 name a second tier, SVIP, that appears nowhere in the listing's ten price rows. For a viewer, one finished drama on MoboReels can mean two plans, or coins on top of one.

TL;DR: MoboReels price on the US App Store on Nov 4: Weekly VIP $29.99, Monthly VIP $49.99, Coins Packs from $9.99 to $49.99 and Check-in Rewards Packs from $14.99 to $28.99. Google Play lists items from $0.99 to $299.99. MoboReels prints no coin price per episode. 32 of the 500 latest US reviews say VIP did not reach the ending. Checked Nov 4, 2026.

As of Nov 4, 2026: prices as the App Store and Google Play listed them that day, against our Oct 18 read of the same App Store page. Apps change both; we recheck and log changes below.

What is the MoboReels price? (quick answer)

The app is free to download. After that, the App Store shows Weekly VIP at $29.99, Monthly VIP at $49.99 and coins in packs from $9.99. Those are the only plan rows Apple shows; MoboReels' own subscription terms allow weekly, monthly and annual billing, and reviewers describe a second tier for the final episodes. With no coin price per episode published, we give no cost to finish on MoboReels itself. Our MoboReels app page keeps the store ratings next to these rows.

Price row on the US App StoreNov 4Oct 18
Weekly VIP$29.99$19.99 and $29.99
Monthly VIP$49.99$49.99
Coins Pack$9.99, $14.99, $19.99, $29.99, $49.99$9.99, $14.99, $19.99, $49.99
Check-in Rewards Pack$14.99, $19.99, $28.99$14.99, $19.99, $28.99
Google Play, all items$0.99 to $299.99 per itemnot recorded

Apple shows at most ten purchase rows on an app page, so a plan missing from this table is not proof that it no longer exists.

Weekly VIP at $29.99: the $19.99 row left Apple's ten

On Oct 18 the App Store listed two Weekly VIP rows, $19.99 and $29.99. On Nov 4 only the $29.99 row remains, and a $29.99 Coins Pack has taken a slot. MoboReels' Subscription Terms let it "change the price and billing period for the paid subscriptions according to business needs or market changes," so the gap could be a price change or just Apple's ten-row limit.

$29.99 a week ties the dearest weekly row among the thirteen apps in our Oct 18 comparison: NetShort, FlexTV and StardustTV also topped out at $29.99. GoodShort's Weekly VIP stopped at $19.99 when we read it Oct 22, and ReelShort's one subscription row was $19.99. Monthly VIP at $49.99 matches FlexTV's monthly row.

If you would keep VIP past one week, the monthly row is the cheaper buy: two Weekly VIP charges come to $59.98, our math, against $49.99 for a month. Reviewers also name weekly prices that match no Weekly VIP row on the App Store: $6 through an Instagram link paid with PayPal, a "Weekly VIP Pass for $9.99," and $28.99. We could not see any of them on a store page, so we do not count them as the price.

SVIP: not on the price list, named in 15 reviews

The App Store description promises "Premium Ad-free. Pure, uninterrupted streaming from the first frame to the last." It says nothing about tiers. The reviews do. We read the 500 most recent US reviews in Apple's own feed, written Aug 30 to Nov 2: 32 say a paid VIP plan (weekly, monthly or yearly) left the last episodes locked unless they paid again, and 15 use the name SVIP. Twenty-five of the 32 gave one star.

Bar chart of the 500 latest US App Store reviews of MoboReels: 98 one-star, 32 say VIP stopped short, 15 name SVIP

Chart: ShortDramaDesk, from Apple's US review feed for MoboReels (500 reviews, Aug 30 to Nov 2), read and sorted by hand on Nov 4.

A one-star review from Oct 31 puts it in one line: "You pay $20+ for a week VIP then they withhold the last few episodes for a 2nd tier VIP called SVIP that costs the same amount." A three-star review from Oct 17 gives two prices: "On top of doing the regular VIP at 29.99 per Week. If i want "early access" to finish the series, i gotta pay 49.99 for SVIP." On Oct 18 another reviewer wrote, "I get 10 episodes from the end and it’s locked requiring another paid subscription this one being 34.99." And on Aug 31 a reviewer who bought a monthly VIP plan wrote: "I reached out to their help desk and was told you have to have SVIP to get full access."

So reviewers name second-tier prices from about $20 to $50 a week: "another $20/week" on Sep 1, "another $35" on Oct 28, "$50 A WEEK" on Oct 11, with $34.99 and $49.99 the only exact figures. None of the ten App Store rows carries the name SVIP, and the MoboReels web pages we opened carry no prices at all. The Oct 17 reviewer calls SVIP "early access," and a Sep 5 review describes being told to "buy more tokens to view the next episode or wait anywhere from 40 minutes to several HOURS," so for some titles the lock may be a wait rather than a wall. No MoboReels page we read says which.

Desk note: MoboReels' App Store average is 4.5 stars over 40,865 ratings, and the count grew by 186 between our Oct 18 read and Nov 4, our math. In the 500 written reviews we read, 98 gave one star, and 25 of those 98 are VIP complaints counted above. The star average says little about the paywall; the one-star text is where the second tier shows up.

Coins: packs from $9.99, no price per episode we could find

The App Store names five Coins Packs, $9.99 to $49.99, without saying how many coins each holds. MoboReels' drama page for Frozen Wife, Unfrozen Revenge lists 45 episodes by number on Nov 4 with no coin figure, lock or price in the page text. Its Terms of Use describe coins as "an online "currency" to access a variety of virtual goods such as episodes of a story" that has "no "real world" value."

Reviewers' own numbers do not line up. On Oct 12: "It takes almost 200 coins to go to another episode." On Nov 1: "I just purchased 1000 coins and was only able to watch two episodes with that amount." Another Nov 1 review asks, "over 500 coins per episode?" One episode costing anywhere from about 200 to 500 coins, by these accounts, is too wide a range to price a drama, so we do not.

Step-by-Step: five ways to pay MoboReels less

1. Start on the ad route. MoboReels' Terms of Use say it lets some users in "without charge" and pays for that with "third party advertisements"; the App Store marks the app "Contains Advertising" and Google Play "Contains ads." An Aug 31 review liked that "you can endlessly watch ads to see the episodes rather than just have to spend money upfront." An Oct 29 review counted the cost: "At one point I watched 2 ads to unlock one episode multiple times." With MoboReels dramas running a median 60 episodes in our catalog, that is a lot of ads, but it is free.

2. Check whether your drama is also on ReelShort. Of the 2,162 MoboReels titles outside 17+ that our catalog had read by Nov 3, 39 also list on another app and 10 on ReelShort, which prints a coin price. MY Cursed Merman Prince has 43 episodes on both apps; ReelShort's partner catalog (RS Boost) showed it free through episode 14 on Oct 21, so the other 29 at 60 coins come to 1,740 coins, one $14.99 pack by our math. That is half a $29.99 MoboReels week, for the whole story. Nine of the ten shared titles cost less than $29.99 to finish on ReelShort by the same math; the tenth, Mafia's Tender Torture, costs exactly $29.99. The cost calculator runs the same sum for any ReelShort title.

3. If you pay, pay through a store and cancel a day early. The listing says: "You may cancel your subscription at any time at least 24 hours before your renewal date." On an iPhone, Apple's steps are "In Settings, tap your name. Tap Subscriptions. Tap the subscription. Tap Cancel Subscription." One reviewer who paid "$6 for a one-week subscription through an Instagram link using PayPal" wrote that support "told me to return to the social media link to watch." For a plan with no Apple receipt, Apple's own advice is to "check your bank or credit card statement" to see which company bills you. Our ReelShort cancellation guide walks through the same store screens.

4. Buy coins for this week only. The Terms of Use rule out a refund "on the grounds that there are still remaining Coins/ Free Coins in the account," and say "Price and availability of the items are subject to change without notice." A stockpile of coins is money MoboReels keeps whether you watch or not.

5. Know where a refund request goes. MoboReels' Subscription Terms say it "will not refund any subscription fees already paid" when you cancel early, and send disputes to the Beijing Haidian People's Court under Chinese law. For an App Store purchase, Apple takes requests at reportaproblem.apple.com and says some purchases "might be eligible for a refund." That is a request, not a promise.

Our take

Skip MoboReels' $29.99 Weekly VIP: watch free with ads, or finish on ReelShort when your drama is there too. At $29.99, MoboReels' only weekly row ties the dearest in our thirteen-app comparison, and 32 of its last 500 US reviewers say a VIP plan still left an ending locked. The ad route costs time instead, two ads for one episode in an Oct 29 review, but no money. For the ten shared titles, ReelShort's published coin price finishes nine for less than one MoboReels week. If you do pay, Monthly VIP at $49.99 beats two weeks, and our GoodShort price guide and NetShort price guide show what the same money buys on apps whose weekly rows start at $5.99.

What we don't know yet

  • What SVIP costs on the App Store, how long it runs, and which dramas or episodes it covers. It is not among the ten rows Apple shows.
  • Whether VIP episodes behind SVIP open later without paying, after a wait, or stay locked.
  • How many coins each Coins Pack holds, and what an episode costs in coins.
  • Whether Monthly VIP at $49.99 includes the episodes reviewers call SVIP.
  • What a Check-in Rewards Pack ($14.99 to $28.99) includes; the listing gives only the name.
  • What the $299.99 item on Google Play is.

How we checked this

On Nov 4, 2026 we read MoboReels' US App Store page, Apple's lookup record for it, the 500 most recent US reviews in Apple's review feed and its Google Play listing. MoboReels' terms forbid scraping, so we opened its Subscription Terms, Terms of Use, home page and one drama page by hand, once each, in a browser. The Oct 18 price rows and the catalog counts come from our own data files; ReelShort figures come from its partner catalog and coin guide. We classified the reviews by reading each one that mentions VIP, SVIP, tiers or endings. We did not install MoboReels or buy anything. Last reviewed Nov 4.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who makes MoboReels? The App Store names the seller as CHANGDU (HK) TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, which also lists the MoboReader novel app; on Google Play the developer is MOBOREADER TECHNOLOGY USA CO LTD. MoboReels' subscription terms send disputes to the Beijing Haidian People's Court under the laws of the People's Republic of China.

Does MoboReels have a yearly plan? Its subscription terms say plans "can be charged weekly, monthly, annually, or another period," but none of the ten App Store rows on Nov 4 is a yearly plan. Two reviewers, on Sep 1 and Oct 23, write of paying $150 and $149 for a year; we could not see that price on any store page.
