Can you watch short dramas for free?

Partly. 12 of the 14 apps we track sell coins or passes on the App Store. Below are the free ways we can show with a source: an app that sells nothing, episodes the apps post on their own YouTube and TikTok channels, the longest free runs, and the free coins an app describes itself.

Apps that sell nothing on the App Store

  • PineDrama app icon
    PineDrama

App Store: No In-App Purchases section on the App Store page (checked Oct 18, 2026).

Google Play listing: no "Contains ads" label (checked Oct 18, 2026).

None of its dramas are on our list yet: the app has no public web catalog we can read.

FreeReels is not on the US App Store (Not returned by the iTunes US search on 2026-10-18; Google Play only), so we cannot see what it sells; its Google Play listing says it contains ads (checked Oct 18, 2026).

Free on the apps' official channels

Some apps post first episodes and trailers on their own YouTube and TikTok accounts. We only count channels the app itself links to; these are the ones we confirmed. We have not found an app posting complete series there, so treat these as free samples.

ReelShort

  • “For one ad, you can earn up to 15-40 coins each time and 175 coins at most.”
  • “if you check in daily, you can earn up to 165 coins.”
  • “logging in on ReelShort earns you 50 coins.”

ReelShort's blog, published Aug 14, 2026, read Oct 18, 2026. Turn coins into episodes with the cost calculator.

The other apps do not publish their check-in or ad rewards on a page we could read, so we leave them out rather than guess.
