Story
For thousands of years, Elijah Baran has been bound to a magic lamp, granting wishes to family after family. Steven Parrish, a billionaire, offers him a deal: marry his granddaughter Christine, stay loyal for five years, and be free. Full story (spoilers)
Elijah Baran is a genie who has spent thousands of years granting wishes from inside a magic lamp, secretly longing to be free. Billionaire Steven Parrish offers him a deal: marry his granddaughter Christine, stay faithful for five years, and he goes free. Elijah takes human form and hides his magic, helping Christine become a CEO, yet the kinder he is, the worse she treats him. After five years, he divorces Christine, takes back what he gave her, and leaves her alone with her deceptive ex, Tony Roth. Elijah moves on with Ruby Hiller, who values him with or without magic. Christine realizes too late how wrong she was, begs him to stay, and insists she always loved him. Elijah refuses, takes Ruby's hand, and walks away, leaving Christine with nothing but regret. Elijah is no longer the man she once knew.
