Story

A paternity test broke Cade's family apart seventeen years ago: his father left, and at twelve he was abandoned by his mother, Helena. With help from Uncle Frank Calloway he got by, quit school at sixteen and went into construction, rising from carrying bricks to running job sites. Now Helena is back as the client representative on a big downtown redevelopment. She does not recognise her son, and the first thing she says is that he should be replaced.
